MCC Fundraising bicycle trips
With Covid getting the best of our holiday plans in 2020. I made the decision to take a bicycle trip in my home province of Manitoba. I connected with MCC and made it a fundraising ride. This has continued every summer since. Here is a brief highlight from each year.
2020…cycled from Winnipeg to The Pas…total distance of 865 kms, completed in 8 days….raised $1,610

2021….cycled from Winnipeg to Thompson…total distance of 801 kms, did in 7 days. Cycled two days with my daughter Chantel. Raised $2,755.

2022….cycled from Togo, SK to Kenora, ON….total distance of 983 kms, did in 11 days, raised $10,700. This trip was done with my daughter Amelia.

2023…cycled from Swartz Bay, BC to Port Hardy, BC. This is the entire length of Vancouver Island. Total distance was 903 kms, did the trip in 13 days, raised $2,742. This trip was done with my wife Cheryl.

2024 cycled from Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump in Alberta to Buffalo Point in Southeast Manitoba. Total distance was 1,572 kms did the trip in 15 days, raised $4,200. This trip was done with all 3 of my daughters. Amelia cycled 8 days, Chantel two days and Kimberly for one day all at different points in the trip.

In 2025 our family is planning to cycle from Cochrane, Alberta up Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail), west to Jasper and down the Icefields Parkway to Banff and back to Cochrane. A leisurely Sunday ride
